Super Bowl Sunday & My Football Roots

In my parent's house, as a kid, from September to February, football was a constant. We watched college football and professional football on TV and of course, we had season tickets to the high school football games - season tickets which my dad continued to buy even after all three of us kids graduated from the high school, and only stopped purchasing a few years ago. :)


Luckily, Alex is not quite that fanatic, although we have retained this tradition on a much smaller scale. And we think that Cooper has picked up on the football in his blood - he loves to watch football. Anything else, even cartoons geared towards babies and toddlers - even Elmo - he can take or leave, but when a game comes on, he is totally focused.


Unfortunately, our team did not go to the Super Bowl this year, but nonetheless, Super Bowl Sunday is a big deal around here. So, we built a fire in the fireplace, Alex made some delicious burgers, and we had a carpet picnic in our jammies as we watched the Saints and Colts duke it out. And of course, Coopoer watched with as much intensity as anyone - although it is hard to say if he enjoyed the game or the special snack of doritos that we allowed him to have in honor of the big game!
